Trade Winds Lullaby
By James Devine.
I welcome you to Sailing Into Adventure This page is dedicated to those adventurous souls who were brave enough to set sail into the dawn and experience the wonders of a life under sail. The magic of being at the helm under a sea of stars with only the gentle sound of the waves rolling away to leeward is an experience known only to those who have been there. So join me dear reader as we sail into the adventure of life at sea.
We begin with my first ship the famed schooner Yankee that I sailed upon when only one year old. Then a voyage to the West Indies aboard the swift schooner Doubloon at age 3. Then there was the swift clipper schooner Caribbee With my father Captain Walter in Command. He took me to treasure Island in the BVI , The island that inspired Robert Louis Stevenson to write treasure island. There I found treasure some of which I have today a lifetime Later.
Then I became a man, and a captain of sail. There were my fathers ships Ramona and Janeen two 138 foot Herreshoff schooners and many others. A life of adventure I have had and now I invite you to cast off and join me on a voyage that spans the decades.
